On the edge of hope is the story of Helen McCrae who is hoping for her son’s return from WW2. It also shows hardships faced by the families during that time in New Zealand while men were fighting for the country Why On the edge of hope? I wanted to show this era from a different perspective. We always saw WW movies in trenches, bloodshed, explosions etc. I want to show the other side of the coin in the sense of how families coped while their loved ones were fighting on another side of the world.
