Filmmaker Statement

With Patrimony, I set aim to make a character study disguised as a genre film. The film examines an environment that is unsettling and unsafe, one that sits under a lingering air of danger and volatility. It is a setting where bad behavior among men is fueled and encouraged. My hope is that the film paints a blunt portrait of a self-sustaining culture that perpetuates violence and harm, and makes the audience question where their sympathies and allegiances should lie.
