Filmmaker Statement

PB & J is a testament to the the overwhelming urge to story tell. Originally written 8 years before shooting, I somehow kept coming back to this un-shot, un-requited, incomplete bunch of text on a page. The more I tried to push it away, the more it kept nagging at me, and finally with the help of the encouragement of friends, and a Global Pandemic, I made my first film. The idea of isolation and loneliness being an ever present idea that sat over the 3 years of COVID, this movie, not only helped to bring me together with other people, but also was an interesting parallel to a new chapter of my life and subsequent transformation. While I recognize that no first film is ever perfect. I am proud of how much my small team and I were able to accomplish, and look forward to bringing more stories into the light. Enjoy
