The first short we made - Tick Tick Tick - took six years to get from script to online. That's far too long for a feature film, never mind a short. I decided to make something that could be made in a day, but crucially, would be worth an audience's time. Thinking about how a fixed shot would make a viewer feel, I decided to use the logistical constraints to inspire the story and themes. Punch-Drunk made the BAFTA 2022 longlist - Best Short Film.
