Filmmaker Statement

REM is a film based off of me in high school. I found myself coming home after school and wanting nothing more than to take a nap and dream up something better than what I was experiencing in real life, becoming so prevalent that I was essentially obsessed with dreaming. Upon reflection, that is where I came up with REM. I wanted to find a rich and unique way of portraying our most common disorders by incorporating the idea of lucid dreaming, and I had a perfect experience to go by.
