Filmmaker Statement

With "Routine Delivery," I wanted to offer an alternative to the dominant flavor of dystopian science fiction off so many people find off putting. Everyone has a stake in the future and the technologies, like artificial wombs, that will shape it, and I hope to reach new audiences with this approach. "Routine Delivery" is one of five shorts that follow Ada as she explores the ethical and social implications of new technologies with humor, vibrant settings, and above all a willingness to engage with the weird. The others explore the future of disaster preparedness, organ donation, genetic modification, and transformative AI.
