Filmmaker Statement

With a run time just under 5 minutes, first-time screenwriter, Natalie Tam, was able to convey a powerful and personal story about the complicated conflict of being a teenage child to immigrant parents. On one hand, you are proud of where you come from, but on the other, your defining cultural values can cause you to be embarrassed when surrounded by ignorant teenagers who don't understand it and the simplest solution is to request a simple sandwich for lunch rather than a traditional meal. This is Natalie's first script and we at KT Pictures, along with the rest of the crew that worked on it, are proud to have helped her create her debut film. She is a talented writer with a bright future.
