Grief has been an overwhelming part of the collective experience for the past 2 years. And I've felt the human absurdity within all of the horror and death and wanted to find ways to portrait that through small stories. Grief is everything; it's tears and crying and sadness, but it's also left over food, and parking tickets, and tasteless programs at funerals. SANDWICHES is a processing of some of my grief; in it's weird, slanted, sneaky way. This was made in 2 hours of filming, and a few days of edits, with my partner and my best friend.
