Filmmaker Statement

Scleroderma Domesticus tackles the theme of domestic violence, trying to relate it through a thriller and, at times, entertaining dramaturgy. The real goal of the film is not to clearly denounce a social scourge, all too current, but rather to give the viewer a reflection on a story that questions, and above all questions itself, on the dark side of the human mind. The film does not claim to bring the public to awareness, and does not want to take the side of anyone (it would be too obvious), but rather wants to propose a provocative and nihilistic vision of emotional dependence, and of the morbid drift that this can take. Where is the line drawn between victim and executioner?
