Filmmaker Statement

This film was actually a last minute pivot from the film we had scheduled to shoot and it turned out brilliantly. Due to unfortunate circumstances whereby we couldn't cancel the location booked without loosing what we'd paid. The micro short "Scorched" was written, planned out and last minute cast brought in, to have this film turned around within 10 days! It was heavily inspired by the location itself and elements of the feature film "13 Ghosts" which is different from other ways of watching a ghost story in that the unseen entity is fully visible to the audience, which I've always loved and has been something I've wanted to incorporate. It stars and debuts an amazing up and coming British actress, Henrietta (Hettie) Norwood who played an amazing performance in her first role. And our "Crispy" antagonist played by Poppy Pearson is a drama student based in Northamptonshire who's looking for a future career in stunt work.
