Filmmaker Statement

Shiny Dupes blossomed out of my search for my artistic voice. I began to pursue my growing interests in genres of mystery, crime, and magical realism. The seed for this film was planted in the idea of a mysterious jewelry heist, and my goal was to experiment with storytelling techniques and explore with my passions for fashion, jewelry, production design and sound design. During the edit, I began to see new possibilities and paths for the story to take, and the film came to life- ah, the magic of filmmaking!
