When we first started skörda I just had an image in my head of a girl with a lantern in a forest and the first draft was inspired by the "devil's footprint" incident from 1855 in England. The title is a Swedish word that means "to harvest", it just seemed to fit the fairy tale vibe as well as what's going on in the story. The story has no dialogue because I felt the atmosphere was such an important part and anything spoken would have distracted from that. Shooting was definitely a challenge as we were literally filming in the woods at night in the middle of the woods and it was -10 degrees. No trailer or anything, we had to walk 10 minutes back to the cars to warm up after an hour. But the snow was very unique that day and I don't think we could have asked for a better night for this shoot. We are currently working on a full-length script for skörda, it includes the backstory about why the girl is looking for this particular plant and why it's forbidden to do so.
