Filmmaker Statement

London, 1992. Georgina, a curious and energetic 10-year-old, comes home and has a lot to say about her day at school while her mum is busy preparing dinner. But something Georgina overheard today is on her mind, a word she doesn't know. What seemed like another normal day, turns into an unexpected sex-ed talk in which her mother must decide whether to answer Georgina's question truthfully or not. Georgina takes place 30 years in the past, before internet, smartphones and social media. In short, during a time when the innocence and the wonder of childhood was still safeguarded by a lack of constant noise and unfiltered information. For any parent nowadays, the story of Georgina will resonate for a number of reasons and will definitely start a conversation.
