Filmmaker Statement

Sober Sitter is dedicated to the chaotic (and fun) dynamic of siblinghood, as well as the universal fear of missing out that can come with it. As a life-long middle child, I know this dynamic all too well. The drug-infused pandemonium of this story reveals how far a young boy will go to be accepted by his older brother, as well as the similar desire for inclusion his older brother seeks with his own peers. Having experienced both sides, I created this film to show that bonds between siblings aren't just tested by the kicking and screaming, but also by their undeniable similarities.
