Filmmaker Statement

Driven by the exacerbation of both the climate crisis and the ever-widening wealth gap, I wanted to create a film that was able to explore both these issues at the same time. The film is about imminent destruction, and about trying to survive that. It tells the story of the elite being able to find a way to do that, to live out their days in comfort, whilst the poor must still treat survival as a daily struggle. Still Here considers questions of human nature, putting that dual potential for either greed or care in competition. In the world of Still Here, we’ve passed a point of no return. And in the absence of hope, it seems there is only greed.
