Filmmaker Statement

I always come back to animating straight-ahead in ink on paper. It requires intense concentration. It's slow and pure. You can't preview. You can't erase. You end up with moving imagery that could *only* be achieved via animation. This was commissioned by LA Loft Movie Club, a screening series curated by Risa Rubin, where filmmakers make 1-minute pieces that all relate to a particular theme. It started at an undisclosed location, and has since moved to Whammy Analogue Media.
