Filmmaker Statement

The story deals with how the cyclic nature of domestic abuse ruptures the relationship between a mother and daughter. It is about rage and agency. The story, at its core speaks to the erasable connection between Mother & Daughter in spite of everything that divides them. There is nothing explicit about the violence portrayed this story. But more the implicit violence that exists in complacency & displacement. This film is me placing myself as a film-maker. It is fictional but at the same time deeply personal, informed by my childhood experiences. It was written & shot underneath the maunga I grew up under - Saddle Hill. It is a love letter to my 15 year old self, all that I saw and now all that I have set free.
