Filmmaker Statement

I have been working on making The God Couple a reality for around three years now, with constant set backs due to COVID. Finally approaching my senior year, I came back stronger than ever to create this project as my BA Capstone Thesis. This story has helped me throughout many struggles, especially in regards to processing my religious upbringing through humor. I also have always gravitated towards the supernatural, as well as the teen girl genre, and wanted to make something that combined these two worlds. Alongside all this, it was important to me to have a majority female and queer cast and crew in order to both bring diversity to my set, as well as to support the female-forward story being told. I'm so happy and grateful to have this project finished, and I am proud of the team behind me!
