Filmmaker Statement

The House grew from a simple question Eddie Murphy once asked: if you’re stuck in a haunted house, why don’t you just leave? This issue plagues one horror film after another. The heroes try everything but walking out the front door. In our film, the heroine has a very compelling reason to stay: the rent is cheap. She would rather deal with the undead than upset her budget. Anyone who has lived in New York or Los Angeles has to understand.
