THE IMPOSTOR is the twisted vision of absurdist writer/director Will Priddis in his largest project to date. Bringing together a group of his most trusted collaborators, The Impostor is a hypnotic and atmospheric identity crisis in an oppressively quiet apartment. Having developed a solid reputation for finding strangeness in everyday life with his shorts BOX-MAN, PEOPLE WHO PRETEND TO BE CROWS IN THEIR SPARE TIME and THE ABYSS, Will is building on his strengths, this short explores the horror of being in situations where one is denied self-esteem, in the guise of the world’s worst doppelganger. Where one would usually expect a doppelganger to be a ‘perfect’ twin, a threat to the life of the original, Will Priddis subverts the norm by forcing us to watch it grow from nothing. From its almost ‘newborn’ state of inability, to a confused adult with no sense of identity, it ultimately leads us to recognise the environment that made did this and corrupted an innocent creature.
