Filmmaker Statement

The Long Way Home started out as a student film, a fine art project for a university course. The writers of the film got so excited about the potential of the project that they started planning a fantasy short film with close to no budget. The project's subject was supposed to be somewhat serious, with the characters making for a lighter atmosphere. The writers were trying to critique different countries that are eager to wage wars, and how dire the consequences of war are. The subject of the film became even more actual while filming in the spring of 2022. Now a passion project for the writers, the group of filmmakers set out to make two nerds' dream come true, while creating an artistic work.
