Filmmaker Statement

The film presents an ethical and philosophical dilemma, that of procreation. It explores the choice to not contribute to the continuity of the human species, and the expectation and right to have said choice respected as a viable course of action without having to yield to a collective consciousness nor succumb to surrounding pressure. For the efficient delivery of the film's message, it was pivotal to have a non-speaking character whose identity is not defined. Thus highlighting the ever so existing theme of reproduction in a non-heteronormative framework, its hurdles and societal shackles. In midst of existential conundrums, there is the day to day life, the dysfunctional relationships, and the utility of the personal in assessing philosophies on life through one's self and through the Other. I hope that one could delve into an example of the poetic visual representations, of the places we go to and within which we start existing when we converse, hear a song or read a letter.
