Filmmaker Statement

Some of our favorite rom-coms come from the campy dream that was the early 2000s. The fashion, the lingo, the look, and of course, the romance. But what glued us to these movies, was the surreal, lush world that lived around the characters where anything was possible. As the world around us fades further and further from this utopia, it’s movies like this we run back to as an escape. That’s where “The Way Things Used 2 B” comes in. We want to help revive the romcom genre and share the joy with everyone who’s ever dreamed of riding a motorcycle with Matthew McConaughey or kissing Jude Law in a quaint British cottage. We hope this film is just the start of us bringing back movies that center humor, heart, and the awkward magic of human connection.
