Filmmaker Statement

We made this film to help break the stigma associated with homelessness, addiction and mental health issues in the Cranbrook, BC area. A small town of 22,000 people, Cranbrook is not accustomed to seeing homeless people in the city... until 2020 that is. The situation exploded during the pandemic and is now a city-wide crisis, leading to discrimination and misguided opinions about people experiencing homelessness. By sharing the story of three people who had experienced homelessness we hope to create empathy for those down on their luck.
