Thread of Hope, is an animated short film that sheds light on the resilience, creativity, and hope of refugee women. The short follows the journey of a young girl who discovers a transformative thread amidst the turmoil of displacement. The film depicts the strength of the human spirit through the metaphor of craft and fabric, while highlighting the empowerment of refugees through craftsmanship. Created and written by BrandOpus and directed by award-winning collage artist Troy Browne, the film features the voice of British actress and UNHCR Goodwill Ambassador, Gugu Mbatha-Raw, along with a new track from musician Bat for Lashes. This film was created for MADE51, a global brand and collaborative initiative brought to life by UNHCR, the UN Refugee Agency. MADE51 creates livelihoods opportunities for refugees in the artisan sector and changes the narrative about refugees by showing them as talented individuals with rich and diverse cultural heritage.
