Filmmaker Statement

The first time I had ever directed anything in my life. My debut. The context of the film is very important. It is based off a non-fiction narrative. When Sonny Hall who plays Johnny Little was younger, his mother passed away from a heroin overdose. He spent years drinking and taking drugs to blanket his pain, but once he went sober and grew older, he started to mourn this loss as if it had just happened. The stunts were unsupervised, and the performance is a very raw example of taking a fiction film and turning it into a reality.
