Filmmaker Statement

Set in a subversive world, centered around chaotic characters, and grounded in real human emotion — Triggerman was made to entertain! As a writer-director, I am interested in stories that push the characters to their breaking points. Inspired by classic films like Collateral and Rope, Triggerman is a thriller told from a new point of view. The goal was to create a short that was both visually visceral and culturally specific. As a cinephile, I consume many movies and set out to make a film that had cinematic touchstones but was unlike anything I’ve ever seen. From the pop culture dialogue to the synth-heavy score, Triggerman is so clearly pulled from my vivid imagination. Made by a talented team of artists and funded by the most supportive friends and family, my producers and I couldn’t be prouder of this film.
