The ultimate objective of my film is to explore the essence of communication behind diverse cultural backgrounds. In my US high school years, I observed that kids of different races and cultures mostly make friends with their kind. There was barely any interaction between Chinese International students and American Born Chinese, even though we both understand English. We would be respectful to each other if we had to talk. However, we always talk behind the people we don't like in Mandarin Chinese, and enjoy the privilege of understanding the language. That makes my question about the essence of communication. I wonder if language helps people talk to each other or simply makes things worse. Despite our differences, aren't we humans, after all? In the story, I make my characters speak different languages (English, Mandarin Chinese, and Spanish). While The Runner understands Chinese, anger is perpetuated in his interaction with The Biker.
