When my parents opened their first restaurant, I was four years old. They could sometimes not afford to pay for a babysitter, so they would take me to the restaurant until they could close at midnight to take me back home. I've often heard people say "oh if I don't make it in my career, I'll just open a restaurant with whatever money I have left". This makes me chuckle because it truly shows that these people have no idea how difficult it can really be. I've seen firsthand the blood, sweat, and tears my parents gave for the past two decades that helped shape the success they have today. Restaurants can be one of the most rewarding yet challenging work sectors out there. For every 100 amazing and genuinely fun customers you meet; you sometimes meet the one customer that'll make you question why you do this.
