Filmmaker Statement

When we shot this film, my wife was seven months pregnant with our first child, and I was filled with all the anxieties that come with becoming a new parent. As a relatively new transplant to LA, the rituals of millennial parenthood on the Eastside were also revealing themselves to me, at times completely alien and somewhat cultish. This is all the background for this 16mm film about family, fantasy, and the quiet horror of becoming exactly who you were destined to be.
