The idea for this film came to me during a period of uncertainty, when I was cycling through a wide range of emotions on a daily basis. For all involved, we were looking to create and express ourselves in such a way that would lift our spirits. I was inspired by Anita's story of perseverance through such challenging circumstances, and as a collective, we wanted to showcase that the emotions that characterize our human experience comes to us in waves and cycles. No state is permanent, and each feeling informs the next. Through exploring joy then sadness fear and trust, Anita "circled" back to joy once again when she was cleared by World Aquatics to return to competition.
