Filmmaker Statement

The short answer of why I wanted to create this film is that I'm queer and love romance and wanted to make a queer romance film, but for the longer, much more pretentious answer... It can sometimes be challenging to find a film where a queer relationship is simply allowed to exist without the conflict revolving around heteronormativity. While such films are important, it can also be important to see a queer relationship causally existing within its own context. As such, I set out to make a film that portrays a casual, long-lasting, foundationally strong queer relationship that also goes through the universal challenges of maintaining that relationship. It's not a story about homophobia, but it's a story that I hope many queer audiences will be able to relate to and empathize with as a representation of our relationships as they exist outside of heteronormative constraints.
