Where is Cody From? stemmed from a desire to sort through the recent news of my own origins. When I was 25, through DNA Kit testing, I found out that my father wasn’t my biological father. Not surprisingly, the news was hard! And while I didn’t have it in me to write a film based on my exact experience at that moment, I did want to explore what it would be like to have someone receive somewhat similar news. In a nutshell, Where is Cody From? is an exploration of receiving new news, what it’s like when that news is unexpected, and watching people sort through their problems with unexpected solutions.
