Filmmaker Statement

Half the World is Sleeping was made through an Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) project exploring how Chinese short films can reach international audiences. While shaped by that research, we were ultimately driven to tell a story about memory and family, and how we hold on to what matters most as the world shifts around us.
