Written before the end of the pandemic, between quarantines and deconfinements, with a vision of the future still hampered by the new variants, CHIMÈRES is perhaps the first fiction to offer an outlet for this historical parenthesis in the guise of a comedy. Phobias and obsessive-compulsive disorder are crippling conditions. Sufferers are often isolated. What if health measures had given one of them a reprieve? CHIMÈRES presents an intimate rereading of this news story through the eyes of Phil, who is delighted by it. The result is a joyful, deliberate confusion for those whose feet have been blown off by the pandemic.
