Filmmaker Statement

The film was inspired by the music of JieXi Zhao. The lyrics convey a mixture of bitterness, loneliness, and humorous monologue. The music features a fusion of jazz and pop styles, sometimes accompanied by interesting sound effects. This inspiration led me to transform the central character of the lyrics, the "Fridge" into a lonely male protagonist who discovers a gateway to his imaginative world. It takes him to another realm where he goes on a date with his dream lover. The original intention behind creating this short film was to use elements of whimsy to allow the audience to watch it with a smile. We collaborated with filmmakers and musicians from Europe, Asia, and the United States. We hope that through our humorous video, we can bring a bit of humor to people who feel stressed and anxious in their lives.
