Filmmaker Statement

Headshots was made on a shoe string budget with a bunch of passionate filmmaking friends looking to put something out into the world. The initial idea for this short was formed when my Vietnamese nephew, an aspiring actor, mentioned that he would have to slash the tires of his competition to get casted due the lack of representation of Asian characters in Cinema. I, of course, took this idea one step further into a dark horror comedy that leaves you guessing until the very end. This is my first foray into directing something that I have written. In addition, I've also edited and scored this project because, well, you know how small budgets work. I hope you enjoy watching this weird little story unfold as much as we enjoyed making it!
