I wrote and directed this film because I wanted to talk about one of the values I hold most dear: devotion. The film tells the story of a woman who sacrificed her life for a quest bigger than herself: to find a place to live elsewhere in the universe. When expeditions to Mars are already planned and our planet seems to be rejecting our species little by little, this story seemed essential to me. But Nothing is a message of hope. I didn't want to make a pathetic, defeatist film. I wanted to make a film where hope for a better life becomes the fundamental quest of the main character.
