I grew up in Barry, a cloudy seaside town in South Wales. When I was 11, Rick's rooftop protest made him an unlikely hero of my weird and wonderful home, bringing together the many people who often feel voiceless. Now living in London as an aspiring filmmaker, I've always wanted to create a documentary close to my heart, about the Welsh characters I've longed to put on screen. When I first met Rick, I knew this film had to be made. By the end of his life, we'd become good friends.
