Filmmaker Statement

As the only child in her family, every decision made by Jiaxin follows the expectations of her parents under Chinese traditional values. Being at 25 - the watershed in her 20s, she wants to question those values and make her own decisions regarding her marriage. A film essay traveled from Chicago, Paris to China, intertwines struggles and the reconciliation between mother and daughter.
