Tin Luck is about community. I wrote and cast with the real community from Maiden Lane, where the film is set. For me, there's nothing more reflective of life than the coincidental crossing of people's paths, people who are your neighbors, people who you might think feature very little, but in fact are the make up of your existence. Your day to day. Tin Luck looks to deconstruct the pressures a community from a low socio-economic background deal with, and the stereotypes that often come with that. The crossing of air in Tin Luck is thick with commentary even if the words aren’t there. But if you listen into the raps they reveal what the characters themselves can’t. Tin Luck is an observation of life, people and real connections - in a world full of so much noise.
